Bing Image Creator is Anti Guin

Posted by

I tried to get some illustrations out of Bing Image Creator. It wouldn’t give me anything as long as the image had a gun. Even just a guy with a gun on his belt. It started warning me that continued attempts to produce unsafe content would result in being banned.

Which is odd because a couple of months ago I had it draw an avatar with a cowboy and a rifle. Worked just fine other than the oddly shaped hand. Dude, take your finger/thumb/whatever-that-is off the trigger while you’re riding your horse.

So I tried the simplest query I could come up with. A single word. Gun. Yep, it returns “Unsafe image content detected.” The best I could get it to do was “a bear with a futurist laser gun.” Hmm, this might become my new avatar.

I looked at their content policy and still can’t figure out why we can’t have a picture of a gun. The best I can come up with is that the snowflakes at Microsoft might find a picture of a gun to be “disturbing or offensive.”

This woke stuff is truly exasperating. Other things it would not draw: A woman protesting abortion. A man marching for second amendment freedom. Illegal aliens crossing the border.

But don’t worry. It had no problem creating the picture “students protesting against the second amendment.” No more GUINS! At least it got the blank eyes of the students correct.
